I have finally received my copy of Uppercase's Work/Life II Directory of Illustration. My page above. Below, some other pages that I like:
above: Cynthia Merhej, who works out of London but hails from Lebanon.
above: Maddi Matthews, a talented young illustrator from Canada.
above: Jacqui Lee, also from Canada.
above: the magnificent Olaf Hajek, from Germany.
above: Andrea D'Aquino from the USA.
above: beautiful cover by Alyssa Nassner. Janine Vangool -- who pretty much does everything: write, design, distribute these little books -- is an absolute dynamo. I don't know how she does it, especially with a baby in tow, and at a standard that sets the bar for everyone else.

Beautiful work. I'm a writer working with Nils in Stockholm. I don't have a story in mind but might be able to help develop one if you have something in mind. If not, I'd just like to say that I like your work a lot.
Dear Hack,
Thank you SO MUCH for writing. Unfortunately right now I am far from having an idea, but I hope that one day I will think of something! It would be great to work with you.
All the best
Sandra
im even more excited to receive my copy now. thanks for the sneak peak at these pages. yours looks wonderful. i will look forward to reading it!
Hi Evie!
It is a great read, though I must admit that I haven't sat down with it properly yet. It's kind of like a cross between an illustration book and one of those Paumes titles -- which is great!
What a wonderful looking book .... I would love to see it!
amazing kudos to be featured in such a fantastic publication with such luminary contempories. you must be tickled pink, well done and absolutely well deserved ms eterovic .
Hi Sally -- thank you -- and I don't know whether it will be available for sale, but it might be -- ?
And Elaine -- thank you! You are always so kind. I must sheepishly admit that some money exchanged hands in order for me to be included in this directory -- but there might have been some kind of screening process too. Or maybe not??!!!! ;)
Super super SUPER congrats on being included in this. It looks fabulous (I swore I had to stop buying stuff this year, but how do I avoid this one??!!). So very well deserved you gorgeously clever gal.
Thanks so much Ms Helen. I highly recommend it, and I also recommend that latest Uppercase magazine, which is as wonderful as always. That's not very helpful to you though!
Libraries need to be informed!!
They do indeed... and... well... yes... i ordered it last night! oops
Cool! I didn't realise that you could order it. An Easter present for yourself, completely justifiable.
Hi Sandra,
The internet works in mysterious ways - I've stumbled over your blog and wanted to thank you for the shout out you gave me for Work/Life 2!
Also, I really like your work! :)
Yes, the internet can take one around in strange circles! I love your work Jacqui -- thank you for getting in touch.
:)
