Hooray! There are two new special little dancers in the shop, one with a bird for a skirt, the other a hamburger.
And there is a special price for the pair.

Meanwhile, my very dear and talented friend JP has set himself a most admirable task which he will be documenting on his blog. He writes:
"I'm throwing down the gauntlet and challenging myself not to buy another stitch of manufactured clothing and make everything from scratch."
And he will, you know, with the amount of talent and patience that he has. Go JP!

These are wonderful. I love all your work.
Hi Jess,
Thank you SO MUCH for your lovely words. It hasn't been the best of days, so reading them is twice as sweet!
All the best. :)
well of course now that you've mentioned it i'm going to have to follow jp's exploits....his challenge is laudable and i'd love to follow suit....
i love your new work , without meaning to single out any because it' all just so good i do think there's something very special about a dancer wearing a bird performing the crab position in Fair Isle stockings ....
if only i could see their dance on youtube
Hi Elaine & Alice,
Thank you both for your lovely comments! My heart is aglow.
Yes JP, is a wonder, and I can report that he is currently enjoying making his first pair of socks.
Ha ha Elaine!! I should get into animation and post my dancers on youtube -- mmm -- if only I had an ounce of patience.
Thank you to you both :)
hi sandra, just back to say thanks for your comment as always....the school is a girls only school and thats why all the little flowers were girls..(it would have been very interesting to see how the boys would do their magical flowers.....maybe that'll be another project ....
joes mother used to make all 5 of her chiildren their clothes when they were small and that included knitting knee lenght aran socks for everyone...amazing..
Hi Elaine,
That is just incredible, and I have this idealised version of it all in my head: lots of beautiful traditional Irish knitting and embroidery. I'm sure in reality it was much harder. My mother recalls her grandmother unravelling old men's jumpers, washing the wool and then making two or three garments for the children. Who would do that today?!
Hello!!
thank you for your visit.
I love your blog!!
see you soon,
Lili
Wow! That's all I can say!! Merci merci merci.
