When I was rather young, I enjoyed collecting and wearing intricately patterned socks. I still love interesting legwear, but these days more often than not the washing line is filled with plain grey, navy and black socks and tights.
Fancy feet! My favourite socks as a teen were red paisley. These days I'm partial to lacy socks and argyle socks. And I have a strange pair of socks that have designs on them so they look like cowboy boots.
I vaguely remember paisley as a sock motif....nice with a pair of Docs! I love the sound of the trompe l'oeil cowboy boot....and I must admit to owning at least 6 pairs of argyle socks, which always need mending. So maybe I have not become completely timid in my sock consumption. I love Happy Socks too.
This blog is both a record of my work and an attempt to contribute to the vast inspiration that thousands of other creative people have given me via the internet.
I worked for many years in the fashion industry, designing prints, textiles and developing products for children. I now work as a freelance illustrator and make a variety of work under my own name. Some of the things that I make can be found in my etsy shop and in galleries and stores around Australia.

Hi Julianne,
I vaguely remember paisley as a sock motif....nice with a pair of Docs! I love the sound of the trompe l'oeil cowboy boot....and I must admit to owning at least 6 pairs of argyle socks, which always need mending. So maybe I have not become completely timid in my sock consumption. I love Happy Socks too.
