Above: more work in progress.  I like making things hard for myself.  Oh why buy striped or checked fabric when you can make tiny tiny checks and stripes yourself using embroidery thread?

New things in the shop.

 Hello!  These two boys above and the rather romantic painting below are now in my Etsy shop.

The painting is inspired by an advertisement for an inscribable bracelet, which used to appear regularly in Dolly magazine in the early 80s.  Even then it looked dated.  But it was still romantic.

New mirrors in the shop

Hello!  There are some new mirrors in the shop.  I painted these last week and particularly enjoyed doing the BIG MOUTH!  Enjoy your weekend.

OMG! It's David Hockney!!!

Actually, it's not really David Hockney.  It's my plywood homage to the great man.  He has been painted using acrylic, and has a slightly moveable smoking arm.  He is now available from the wonderful Five Boroughs in Brunswick East.

Tattoo clock at Modern Times

Hello Saturday! This clock is a bit of a departure from my Moby Dick sailor series but I am very happy with how it turned out.  It was inspired by a 1930s tattoo and is available from Modern Times in Fitzroy, Melbourne.

My work at Supergraph

I am very proud to be part of the Australian Etsy stand at the inaugural Supergraph, a fair which celebrates contemporary graphic art and design.  I can't wait!

New tattoo clock and volcano in the shop.

 Hello!  There's a new volcano in the shop, this time wearing warm and handsome Ugg boots.....

....and a tattooed clock as well.  Another in my series of arms belonging to crewmembers of the Pequod (which went in search of Moby Dick), this sailor's wife missed him but became rather impatient and sent a bird to search for him.

Above: the lid from my favourite tin, which I bought in Newcastle sometime in the last millennium.  It has the important task of holding all of my tubes of acrylic paint, and is getting rather full.

Above: my dear quilt, which I must have made some time ago now, needs mending.  I am happy to replace the red ditsy floral, but can't bear to hide the 70s map fabric which I found at an op shop in Cheltenham so many years ago.  If anyone out there has some of this fabric in their stash, I'd be happy to pay for it!
