Above, front. Below, back.
My first (and possibly last) piece of basse couture. (Thank you very much BB and Lambert for correcting my previous attempt at humour in a language I do not actually speak.)
Merry Christmas everyone, and wishing you a wonderful year in 2011! Thank you so much for your support, it makes my heart glow and helps my hands to make more...

Amazing piece of bas couture! Merry Christmas too. I'm so glad to have discovered you, your work and your blog this year. Looking forward to 2011 :)
Have a lovely Xmas SE!
And a Happy New Year..
swxx
Beautiful work Sandra!
And very happy christmasdays to you too, x Renilde
I love it, will it end up in your shop or is it for you to wear?
note: it would be "Basse Couture"
Oh my god, please don't make this your last! I think this is absolutely brilliant- I want one! Lovely!
Happy Christmas!
Dear Suzanna, Sandra W, Renilde, Lambert and Siem,
Thank you so much for your wonderful wishes. I was away from the computer yesterday and in the kitchen, so I didn't get to reply on Christmas day. I hope that you have all had a wonderful time with loved ones, whether in the cold or in the heat. I am so glad to have met all of you this year. I look forward to seeing what you all get up to in 2011 too!
P.S. Thank you Lambert -- I will correct Bas to Basse.
And Emily too, sorry! I was looking at the wrong comment! Have a wonderful 2011 Emily.
oh man, this is possibly the single greatest piece of fibre art I have ever had the good fortune to lay my eyes upon. Indeed, I'd even go so far as to suggest that it surpasses the crocheted Betty White dolls (from her golden girls era - Betty White at her finest).
Wonderful!
HI Katey -- thank you so very much! I am going to have to have a look at those crochet dolls, I love Betty White, but I am not familiar with them. :)
i think this was were i came in all that while past when it was still unfinished but nonetheless just as striking... ,a true work of genius.....
i thought bas couture was a reference to a certain mr Luhrmann, must go look up basse couture now...
it's a real education here....
and a belated happy crimbo and new year to you too ms eterovic , i like your salami (even though i don't like salami ) she's different though...i'm seeing a glitter belt....is that wrong?
hope your dreams come true
Hi Elaine,
Somehow in the Christmasy New Yeary rush I read your comment but forgot to reply!
Yes, the vest was where you came in a year ago, and your support has meant so much. I think that I will always associate you with it!
hmmm....the glitter belt is technically not wrong, as quite a few salami brands do like to glitz things up with a bit of gold...glitter must surely be the next step to getting the customer's attention!
Might leave it there before I babble on too much.
If you read this, wishing you a wonderful and creative year in 2011. Thanks again! :)
